Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Viksya products, licensing, compatibility, and use.
Evaluating Viksya
How is this different from building our own scorecard internally?
A Viksya model is not a blank spreadsheet. Each workbook ships with a defined set of evaluation dimensions, weighted scoring criteria, and calculation logic already built and tested — the part of the work that typically requires senior consulting time before a single input is entered. You are not paying for a spreadsheet shell; you are paying for a methodology that would otherwise need to be designed from scratch. Your team still supplies the organisational judgment and the underlying data; the framework supplies the structure for turning that judgment into a defensible, repeatable evaluation.
What is the evidence base behind the methodology?
Each framework is built on established evaluation practice used in enterprise technology governance and consulting — for example, PERT-based three-point estimation in the AI Project Estimation Model, and multi-dimensional capability scoring in the Readiness Model. We do not publish client case studies, testimonials, or usage statistics. Instead, every scoring rule, weight, and assumption is visible and editable inside the workbook itself, so you can audit the logic directly rather than relying on a claimed track record.
Can this replace a consulting engagement, or does it work alongside one?
It depends on the complexity and stakes of your decision. Some buyers use Viksya tools independently, running the evaluation internally without external consulting spend. Others use them alongside a consulting engagement — to prepare structured inputs before advisors arrive, to pressure-test an advisor’s assumptions, or to retain a working methodology after the engagement ends. The tools are built to support that judgment either way, not to replace it.
Can I see what is inside a workbook before I purchase?
Yes. Each product page describes the tabs, dimensions, and outputs the workbook contains before you buy. Because digital downloads are final sale, we recommend reviewing that breakdown closely and, if you are uncertain whether a specific tool fits your programme or industry, contacting us at hello@viksya.com before purchasing.
Isn’t this something I could just generate with ChatGPT or another AI tool?
You can prompt an AI tool to produce a plausible-looking scorecard quickly. What that scorecard will not have is a tested weighting structure, a documented rationale for each criterion, or a stable version your organisation can return to and defend consistently six months later when a steering committee asks how a decision was reached. Viksya frameworks are fixed, versioned instruments built for that kind of scrutiny — the input can come from anywhere, but the structure holding it together is the product.
Will this hold up in front of a board or steering committee?
The frameworks are built around explicit, inspectable logic rather than a single output number. The Estimation Model’s P50/P80/P90 ranges state exactly what probability claim they represent, and the Assumptions Log tab documents the judgment behind every input. This is designed to let you walk a governance body through how a figure was reached, not just present the figure. The credibility of that conversation still depends on the quality of the inputs and assumptions your team provides.
Is Viksya used by real organisations, or is this a theoretical framework?
The frameworks are built for direct application to live technology programmes, not as academic exercises. We do not publish user counts, client names, or usage statistics. A framework’s value ultimately depends on the inputs and judgment applied to it — Viksya provides the structure and discipline; your team provides the facts about your own programme.
About the Products
What format are the files?
All Viksya products are delivered as Microsoft Excel workbooks in .xlsx format. Some products also include a PDF guide (30–50 pages) explaining the methodology and how to use each tab. The PDF is included in the same download.
Do I need Microsoft Excel?
Yes, for the full experience. The workbooks are built and tested in Microsoft Excel 2016 and later, including Microsoft 365. We recommend using the desktop application rather than Excel Online, as some formatting and formula features may render differently in the browser version.
Do the workbooks contain macros or VBA?
No. All Viksya tools are macro-free. They use standard Excel formulas, conditional formatting, and structured tables only. You do not need to enable macros or adjust your Excel security settings. The files open and work immediately.
Can I use these with Google Sheets?
The workbooks can be imported into Google Sheets, and most functionality will work. However, some advanced conditional formatting and Excel-specific formula behaviour may not render perfectly in Google Sheets. We recommend Excel for the best experience. If you primarily use Google Sheets, contact us before purchasing — we can advise on compatibility for the specific tool you are interested in.
What versions of Excel are supported?
Excel 2016, Excel 2019, Excel 2021, and Microsoft 365 (desktop) on both Windows and Mac. Excel 2013 and earlier are not officially supported.
How are products delivered?
Immediately after your payment is confirmed, Payhip sends you an email with a secure download link. You can download your files from that link. You can also access your purchases at any time by logging into your Payhip account.
Can I download my purchase again if I lose the file?
Yes. Log into your Payhip account at any time to re-download your purchased files. Your purchases are stored in your Payhip account indefinitely.
Using the Tools
Do I need a data science or technical background to use these?
No. These tools are designed for programme managers, CIOs, consultants, and business leaders — not data scientists. If you can use Excel and understand your organisation’s AI or cloud programme context, you can use these tools effectively.
How long does it take to complete a readiness assessment?
The AI Transformation Readiness Scoring Model typically takes 2–4 hours to complete thoroughly, depending on how well you know your organisation’s capabilities across the six dimensions. Many users complete it in a single working session with one or two colleagues.
Can I modify the scoring weights or criteria?
Yes. The workbooks are unlocked and fully editable. You may adjust scoring weights, add criteria, rename dimensions, or restructure tabs to fit your specific context. This is explicitly permitted under your licence.
How accurate are the cost estimates from the Estimation Model?
The AI Project Estimation Model produces PERT-based P50, P80, and P90 confidence ranges. Accuracy depends entirely on the quality of your input estimates. The model is designed to produce defensible ranges, not precise predictions. A P80 estimate means: “there is an 80% probability the actual cost will be at or below this figure, given these inputs.” We recommend reviewing the Assumptions Log tab and stress-testing your inputs before presenting to a board.
Are the LLM token costs in the Estimation Model up to date?
LLM pricing changes frequently. The token cost benchmarks in the model reflect publicly available pricing at the time of the product version release. We recommend verifying current pricing from your chosen provider before finalising any estimate. The model is structured so you can update the cost-per-token inputs easily.
Governance and Compliance Tools
What is the difference between the AI Regulatory Compliance Risk Register and the EU AI Act High-Risk Compliance Pack?
The Risk Register is the diagnosis layer: it classifies up to 10 AI use cases against the EU AI Act risk tiers and India’s DPDP Act and tracks a 30-item compliance gap register. The Compliance Pack is the execution layer: once a system is classified High-Risk, it produces the documents that classification requires — role determination, a FRIA template, human oversight design, an Annex IV checklist, and a vendor questionnaire. Each product works standalone; used together, the Risk Register’s Not-Met High-Risk findings are what the Compliance Pack closes.
Are the compliance and regulatory tools a substitute for legal advice?
No. The AI Regulatory Compliance Risk Register and the EU AI Act High-Risk Compliance Pack provide structured, indicative guidance based on publicly available regulatory texts as of each product’s version date. Neither constitutes legal advice, creates an advisor-client relationship, or evidences compliance with the EU AI Act, India’s DPDP Act, or any other law. Organisations should obtain qualified legal counsel for any classification or submission with material consequences.
Does the AI Vendor Governance Scorecard replace a legal review of vendor contracts?
No. The Scorecard is a structured, evidence-based assessment of how well a vendor delivery arrangement is being governed in practice — SOW quality, capability validation, performance management, knowledge transfer, and exit readiness. It does not review contract terms, IP provisions, or exit clauses, which require qualified legal counsel.
How current are the regulatory references in these tools?
Each workbook states its version date and the regulatory texts it is built on — currently Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 and, for the Compliance Pack, the Digital Omnibus on AI as approved by the Council. Regulatory implementation is still evolving. We recommend re-validating conclusions against current official guidance at least annually, and immediately before any board- or regulator-facing submission.
Do I need a Consultant Licence to use these tools on client engagements?
The standard purchase includes a Personal Licence for internal use. Using a governance or compliance tool across multiple client engagements, or presenting its output as your deliverable, requires a Consultant Licence. See Licensing or email hello@viksya.com to arrange one.
Licensing
What does my purchase include?
Every product and bundle purchase includes a perpetual Personal Licence at no extra cost: you may use the tool for your own professional work and for internal purposes within your organisation, modify it, and receive free updates to that product. Full detail is on our Licensing page and in our Terms & Conditions.
Can I use these tools for multiple internal projects?
Yes. Your Personal Licence permits use across as many internal programmes and projects as you need within your own organisation — simply save a fresh copy for each. It does not extend to client-facing work; see the next question.
Can I use these tools with my clients or in a consulting engagement?
Not under the Personal Licence included with a standard purchase. Presenting a Viksya tool or its outputs to a client as your deliverable, or white-labelling it under your own brand, requires a Consultant Licence — a separate annual licence covering unlimited client engagements and every paid Viksya tool. See Licensing for the full comparison, or email hello@viksya.com to arrange one.
Can I white-label these tools for my clients?
White-label rights — removing or replacing Viksya branding and presenting a tool under your own or your firm’s brand — are included with the Consultant Licence, not the standard Personal Licence. See our Licensing page and Terms & Conditions for full detail.
What happens if my Consultant Licence expires mid-engagement?
Deliverables you created and delivered to a client while your Consultant Licence was active remain licensed after the term ends. You will need to renew before starting new client engagements, producing new client deliverables, or receiving further product updates.
Do I need a Consultant Licence just to use a tool internally on my own team?
No. Internal use by you or your organisation is covered by the Personal Licence included with every purchase. The Consultant Licence is only required when the tool or its outputs are being delivered to an external client.
Purchasing and Access
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Maestro) and PayPal, all processed securely by Payhip.
Is there a refund policy?
All digital downloads are final sale. See our Refund Policy for full details, including the limited exceptions where a refund may be issued.
Can I buy the AI Transformation Suite instead of individual tools?
Yes. The AI Transformation Suite bundles the Readiness Model, Estimation Model, and ROI Calculator in a single purchase at a discount versus buying separately. The Use Case Prioritisation Framework, Cloud Migration Model, and the governance and compliance tools (Production Governance Toolkit, Vendor Governance Scorecard, Regulatory Compliance Risk Register, EU AI Act High-Risk Compliance Pack) are not included in the bundle and are available separately.
Do you offer team, firm, or enterprise licensing?
Consultants and firms working across multiple client engagements should look at the Consultant Licence. If you need a formal enterprise licence agreement for organisation-wide deployment, or licensing for a team of consultants, contact us at hello@viksya.com to discuss options.
Support
What support is available after purchase?
We provide email support at hello@viksya.com for questions about using the tools. We do not offer real-time support or consulting on your specific programme. For questions about the methodology, the PDF guide included with each product is the primary resource.
I found what I think is an error in the tool. What should I do?
Please contact us at hello@viksya.com with a description of the issue, the specific tab and cell, and what you expected vs. what you observed. We take product quality seriously and will investigate promptly.
Will the tools be updated?
We update products when the underlying methodology, market benchmarks, or Excel compatibility requires it. Buyers who have purchased a product are entitled to download updated versions at no additional cost via their Payhip account, for as long as the update falls within their licence.
